As Delaware's experts in food and nutrition, DAND advocates for policies that improve the health of Delawareans and the nation as a whole. The Public Policy Panel, a subcommittee of DAND, is comprised of the Public Policy Coordinator, the Immediate Past-President, the President, the President-Elect, the State Policy Representative, the State Reimbursement Representative, the State Regulatory Specialist, and the Delegate. U.S. Sen. Tom Carper has been selected to receive the 2014 Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Public Policy Leadership Award. The award will be presented at the Public Policy Workshop. Senator Carper was nominated by DAND's Public Policy Panel for his leadership and support for nutrition and health issues of importance to the Academy.
