National Nutrition Month Recipe!

As National Nutrition Month comes to a close, check out this sustainable recipe from DAND!

This meal is sustainable because any combination of vegetables, meats, and even fruits can be combined from leftover foods in the fridge to avoid unnecessary waste. (If you have reusable roasting sticks like the ones used for s’mores over a fire, use these for an even more sustainable meal!) Different seasonings can accent different foods and make 2 kabobs taste completely different from one another. Skewers can also be a fun recipe that easily involves your children with food preparation. Having your children help prepare meals with you can encourage them to try new foods as well! Try grilled pineapple, or use kabobs as a way to introduce new vegetables.

Don’t have an outside grill? Great! Here’s how else you can prepare them:

Oven: 375F for 20-25 minutes

Air-Fryer: 400F for 8-10 minutes

Skillet on Stove-top: Heat cast iron skillet on med/high heat and cook 5-6.
